Dave Freer

I have been painting now for many years.  After visiting St Ives in Cornwall for holidays in the 70s and 80s, and spending many hours watching the artists of St Ives in their studios, mainly painting in oils, I caught the bug and set myself up with paints and brushes etc. Being self taught, it took hours of practice to archive any sort of results.

Then after being invited to the Desford and Peckleton art club one Sunday some 18 years ago, for a day workshop with an Horncastle artist, Ash Buckingham, who paints in watercolour, I was converted to this wonderful, sometimes challenging, unpredictable, and difficult medium.

I like to paint different subjects which show the qualities this medium creates.
